The Odd Couple: Female Version by Neil Simon. Performances will take place November 7 and 8 at 7:30 p.m. and November 9 at 2:30 p.m. at the historic theatre, located at 115 W. 5th Street in Reserve. The production is directed by Mike Brooks.
Neil Simon’s witty revision of his classic comedy puts a fresh spin on the beloved story by transforming the lead characters into Olive Madison and Florence Unger. Olive and her group of girlfriends gather weekly for a lively Trivial Pursuit night in Olive’s messy apartment. When Florence arrives, devastated after being left by her husband, Olive invites her to move in. But Olive’s carefree, untidy ways clash with Florence’s obsession with cleanliness and order, testing their friendship and setting the stage for a series of laugh-out-loud moments. The tension reaches its peak when Olive arranges a double date with the charming Costazuela brothers — and chaos ensues.
This fast-paced, laugh-filled comedy explores friendship, personality clashes, and what happens when two very different people try to share the same space.
